• A Pass claims he can create a hit song anytime but prefers music with meaningful content.
  • Songs like Mariana and Wuuyo remain popular because they carry messages that resonate.
  • He cites Dr. Jose Chameleone as an example of a musician whose hits are both impactful and timeless, unlike many contemporary quick-fading hits.

Musician Alexander Bagonza, popularly known as A Pass, has opened up about his unique approach to creating music, revealing that making hits is a formula he has mastered. “I can do a song today and know it’s going to be a hit tomorrow,” he says. Yet, the singer admits that producing chart-toppers isn’t always his priority.

“I prefer to make music that has meaning and stands the test of time,” A Pass explaine. He pointed to his tracks like Mariana and Wuuyo, which continue to resonate with fans years after their release because of the messages they carry. According to the singer, he knows how to craft a hit right from the beat to the lyrics, but songs that are just instant hits often fade quickly.

A Pass also cited legendary Ugandan musician Dr. Jose Chameleone as an example, noting that many of his songs are both popular and meaningful.

“That’s why people still see him as the best,” he says. In contrast, many contemporary musicians release tracks that may become instant bangers but are forgotten within months, failing to leave a lasting impact something A Pass is trying to avoid.
