The charges arise from a video he published on his YouTube channel in August, where he allegedly made hateful and defamatory statements against fellow public figure Full Figure.
Full Figure, a well-known media personality in Uganda, wasted no time in filing formal complaints against Kaweesi, claiming that the content of the video was both malicious and defamatory.
The complaints, which were lodged earlier this year, led to an investigation by Ugandan authorities. After a thorough probe, Shalom Kaweesi was arrested earlier today by the Katwe Police in Kampala.

Following his arrest, Kaweesi was brought before the Makindye Court, where he was formally charged with cyber harassment and hate speech. The charges are in connection with the claims made in the August video, which Full Figure contended were not only offensive but also harmful to her reputation.
