  • Highlighting his most famous works and background, this article serves as a tribute to his works and a call for greater appreciation of behind-the-scenes creatives.

For many years, talent has surfaced, yet it often remains unappreciated and overlooked, particularly in the case of songwriters. Musicians frequently receive the awards while the writers go unnoticed, as demonstrated by Shon Wyz, a music composer hailing from Busoga. This young, gifted writer seemingly possesses the ability to craft timeless hits with a pen and paper.

During a local interview, Shon Wyz surprised viewers when he revealed several popular songs he has written for various Ugandan artists.

Among these are “Malaika” performed by Winnie Nwagi from Swangz Avenue, “Binyuma” by Pallaso, “Katono” by Kataleya and Kandle, “Property” by Irene Kayemba, and “Crazy Company” by B2C and Fik Fameica.

“I have penned several songs for various Ugandan artists that are well-known to many Ugandans. These include hits like ‘Malaika’ by Winnie Nwagi, ‘Binyuma’ by Pallaso, ‘Katono’ by Kataleya and Kandle, ‘Property’ by Irene Kayemba, and lastly, ‘Crazy Company’ by B2C and Fik Fameica.”

Shon Wyz is yet another example of a brilliant music composer who has not received the recognition he deserves.
