- Shakib Lutaaya says his defeat to Rickman wasn’t fair and blames his own mistakes.
- He demands a rematch, confident he can win the second time.
- Netizens say he lost fair and square, while Kenyan singers weigh in on his boxing ambitions.
It seems like upcoming celebrity boxer, Shakib Lutaaya is not a man who gives up easily and always finds excuses for himself. He has now indicated how he’s not satisfied with the beating that he got from singer Rickman Rick in their just concluded fight at the Lugogo Arena in Kampala.

Despite being thumped in front of thousands of people and his wife, Zari Hassan, Shakib has reiterated how he wasn’t moved by this fight. Instead he believes that he was a victim of his own shortfalls and not the Baliwanika singer’s brilliance.
It’s for this reason that he wants a rematch which he believes he will win. Shakib likened boxing to a football game and any other sport where there’s always a winner and a loser. Therefore he believes that this time, he won’t undermine Rickman which was his biggest weakness in the first fight.
“I don’t think I lost because he’s better than me, it’s because I undermined him as an opponent. Bu I believe in the rematch I’ll beat him hands down because I’ll be knowing that I’m fighting a fellow man. People also need to know that boxing is like any other sport, there’s always a winner and a loser. So I don’t want people to think that because a team has lost, the opponent is better,” he said.
