• Cindy Sanyu revealed she is considering festivals instead of traditional concerts.
  • She believes concerts limit her performance time, while festivals allow for more music and collaborations.
  • As UMA president, she wants to create nationwide lineups to showcase Uganda’s musical talent.

Musician Cindy Sanyu has revealed her plans to stage a festival sometime ahead. The Boom Party was responding to a question about whether she will in the future stop holding concerts in favor of a festival.

Cindy acknowledged that concerts do constrict a singer like her in terms of performance. Therefore she will think of staging a festival not just as singer but also as the president of the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA). This would mean that revellers have a long lineup of musicians to choose from across the country.

“It’s true I’m one of the legendary musicians alive who has inspired many singers in the industry today. And as asked, a concert does truly limit me because you don’t get the time to perform most of the songs. So as an artist and president of UMA, I’ll definitely think of staging a festival. This can have musicians from the north, West and elsewhere so that partiers can have a buffet of performances,” said the Boom Party singer.

The Blu*3 singer had her concert dubbed The Royal Experience last month at the Millennium Grounds in Lugogo and was hugely attended.

With a career spanning over 2 decades and a plethora of hit songs, Cindy would definitely need more than 24 hours to perform all her songs. Therefore a festival of truly realized will bring the best out of her.
