President Museveni has pledged support to the zonal SACCOs of musicians under the Uganda National Musicians Federation. During an address to stakeholders from the music industry at Speke Resort Munyonyo, Museveni said that these can get support of about 10-20 billion shillings especially if its annual.
“We can support you with your zonal SACCOs with about 10-20 billion shillings especially if its annual. That’s not a problem,” said Museveni towards ululations from the audience.
It should be noted that the UNMF led by Kenzo already had billions of Shillings injected into it besides receiving 33 billion shillings in the recently concluded budget reading.
With this declaration from the President, the creatives sector is surely set to get a huge financial assistance. Several artists will be expecting to get hold of these funds to develop their crafts. It should however be noted that this money is refundable as par terms of borrowing.
