Dancehall singer Cinderella Sanyu aka Cindy Sanyu has stated once again that Uganda Musicians Association, UMA, which she leads did not merge with Eddy Kenzo’s led Uganda National Musicians Federation, UNMF, but rather entered into a working partnership. She said that although the two groups have some differences, they have a couple of common objectives that bind them such as the copyright law and advocacy for the industry.

Cindy also talked about the recent launch of the President Museveni Music Album spearheaded by Kenzo. According to the Boom Party singer, she had been told that they were meeting the President for issues concerning the industry and yet it turned out to be an album launch.
However, she said that she wasn’t present since she had a show in Arua. Cindy however expressed willingness to continue working with the Federation till their objectives are achieved.
Asked on whether she has political aspirations, the singer said that she has many fans and people who look up to her for guidance and this can be in different ways including political. However, the Blu*3 singer said that politics is not a step she has yet reached as for now music is the business.

Cindy also expounded on the idea of performing for different candidates in this political season. The singer said that she has fans from different political parties and her appearance at one camp might irritate the other. Therefore she has to be strategic and see if it adds any value to her before doing it.
Additionally, the mother of 3 also revealed why she doesn’t usually appear at other musicians’ shows. Cindy said that she’s open and willing to support everyone but she will do so to only those who reach out to her and seek her support pointing to Rema after she came through when the Fire Tonight singer asked her to come and perform her.
On the recent issue of a fan stealing her wedding ring, Cindy said that she doesn’t want to cling on that matter. This is because she knows about fans’ obsessive love for their stars.
