Singer Liam Voice has publicly expressed his dissatisfaction with how some churches manage their business, particularly regarding congregants’ financial contributions.

The Omwoyo singer revealed that, during his time as a frequent churchgoer, he noticed troubling practices that left him perplexed.

“I never understood the logic of congregants helping pastors with money while they themselves are struggling,” Liam Voice said during an interview with celebrity pastor Jonathan Nalebo.

He further explained that while congregants sometimes give as little as UGX 10,000 as tithe, churches often collect sums as high as UGX 10 million, which he claims are pocketed by pastors.

“There should be a session in the church where the flock is given back and empowered financially,” Liam Voice suggested. “On that 10 million, the church could at least give 5 million back to struggling members.”

He also emphasized that God’s favor can happen to anyone, anywhere, and should not be solely directed by the so-called men of God.

“Faith is not just about giving; it should also be about uplifting the community,” he added.

Liam Voice’s comments raise important questions about transparency, accountability, and the social role of religious institutions in supporting their members beyond spiritual guidance. Many church leaders have been recently criticized of making their congregants poorer instead of empowering them.
