- NUP’s Nabbosa says her “entertainment committee” idea reflects a future NUP-led Parliament.
- She wants sports and entertainment separated under distinct committees.
- Vows to push for copyright law enforcement and better support for creatives.
National Unity Platform (NUP) flag bearer for Mityana District woman MP, Proscovia Mukisa Nabbosa has defended herself following criticism over her comments about the parliamentary entertainment committee she hopes to serve on once elected.

Nabbosa was reminded that Parliament has no such committee. In response, she said her statement was for “those who see far ahead,” explaining that once NUP takes power, a new entertainment committee will be created to oversee Uganda’s creative industry — a committee she hopes to join.
She questioned why the sports and entertainment sectors were merged, saying they are unrelated and should be supervised separately.
Nabbosa also expressed disappointment over the non-implementation of the copyright law, noting that the entertainment industry contributes over UGX 7 billion and is heavily taxed, yet artists see little benefit. She vowed that under a NUP government, these issues would be addressed.
