Dancehall music star Cindy Sanyu has opened up about motherhood, revealing how faith, instinct, and lessons from her upbringing shape how she raises her three children.

The singer, who has a daughter Amani Brunette with her ex, Italian-Ugandan photographer Mario Brunette, and two children with her husband Prynce Joel Okuyo, said being a mother has taught her patience and purpose.
“I think as a parent, I depend a lot on God and instinct,” Cindy shared.
Reflecting on her childhood, the singer said society has changed a lot from when she was growing up. This is because people were kinder, more connected, and valued community.

“There are certain things I can learn. My mother had a way of communicating with her children. No matter how tough she was, I knew she loved me,” she said.
Cindy explained that she keeps that same spirit alive in her parenting, ensuring her children grow up feeling loved and grounded.
“I try and make sure I take care of my family because I don’t know what I’m raising. I might be raising a president — you never know,” she said with a smile.
The Ayokya Yokya hitmaker also revealed that she prefers to keep her children out of the public eye until they’re old enough to make their own choices.
“My eldest is 14 years old now. If she wants to go on camera, let it be her own decision,” she noted.
Cindy concluded that while parenting has no set formula, she fully trusts the combination of her instincts and God’s guidance.
“I go with my instinct with my children. But that constant — it’s granted,” she said.
The singer undoubtedly has that it’s possible to balance between motherhood and celebrity status.
