Vipers SC and Uganda Cranes attacker Allan Okello has heaped on Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa for the impact and help he’s had towards his career. Speaking on a podcast, Okello said that the sports entrepreneur and academic businessman has been a very pivotal figure in turning his life around.

Okello revealed how Mulindwa invited and gave him a chance to revamp his career. The two discussed several things for Okello to join the Venoms. Despite the former FUFA president’s hesitance at first,.he finally gave in to Okello’s demands. These included the salary the former KCCA player wanted, a sign on fee and other things.
“When I met Dr. Mulindwa, I was very open about what I wanted — the salary, the sign-on fee, and how I felt I deserved a fresh start. He hesitated a bit but listened and didn’t argue; he simply told me, ‘If that’s what will help you perform, let’s make it happen.’ That meant a lot to me.”
Additionally Okello said that he “I told him I have my young sister doing Form Four and I have all the responsibilities, so I asked that he allows her to join St. Mary’s Kitende. He said it is okay — and she’s currently there studying for free.”

The top scorer of the Uganda Cranes in the recently concluded CHAN tournament therefore said that there is no way he can ever disrespect or bad mouth Mulindwa because he knows how far he’s brought him back to the top.
It should be noted that Okello rose through the ranks at Uganda Premier League giants KCCA FC with a couple of impressive performances that earned him the FUFA player of the year. This caught the eye of Algerian side AC Paradou who signed him.
Things however didn’t work out for Okello who had been tipped to take over Ugandan football. He ended up back to KCCA on loan before Vipers prized him on a permanent deal. He has been to steadily regain his form at St Mary’s Kitende.
