The renowned Director General of the National Agency for Financial Investigation in Equatorial Guinea, Baltasar Engonga Ebang, has received an 18-year prison sentence. However, this punishment is not related to his notoriety but rather stems from his conviction for embezzling 1 billion CFA francs of government funds.

Baltasar gained international attention late last year when numerous sex tapes of him surfaced on social media and became widely shared.
These tapes were discovered after he came under scrutiny for mismanaging a state-owned company under the Ministry of Finance.
Equatorial Guinea media reports indicate that the so-called “hungry hyena,” Baltasar, embezzled 910 million francs, which he allegedly spent on the various women he filmed himself with.
