While speaking during a TikTok live broadcast, Bebe Cool boasted about his influence within the Ugandan music industry, citing his long-standing relationships with key players in the media.

“Me you are competing with, I’m not just a friend to the DJs but I’m a friend to all the TV and radio owners in Uganda. Before I press the DJ button, I first press the owner’s,” he said.
Bebe Cool real name Ssali Moses, claimed that his social capital allows him to shape the careers of fellow artists — even to the extent of blacklisting music he disapproves of.
“I can stop an artist’s song from being played anywhere in Uganda if I wish,” he clearly stated.

He further advised young artists to seek guidance from industry veterans like himself, pointing to his decades of experience as a valuable resource.
“I have created that circle for 35 years,” he said. “Therefore, you as a young artist, where’s your understanding to come and pick some knowledge from me and use it?”
