- He defends his involvement in Alpha’s football career, dismissing critics who accuse him of sabotage.
Singer Bebe Cool has revealed the motive behind taking his footballing son, Alpha Ssali through some of Uganda’s rough football terrains. It should be noted that Alpha who rose through the Proline Soccer Academy played for Express FC and NEC FC before eventually signing for KCCA FC this season.

According to Bebe Cool, his reason was to give his son extra motivation and a rough skin to swerve through life’s biggest obstacles. The Gagamel boss said that Express has some of the roughest fanbase that doesn’t care who you’re or how you play, all they want is results.
Besides, the club was it’s lowest at the time Alpha played there so this helped to impart real life skills in him. Bebe Cool added that he now doesn’t expect his son to be emotionally fragile because of that experience.
“The reason I took Alpha to clubs like Express and NEC was to give him an extra motivation. A player who has played through such systems knows what it means to rise from the top and never want to go back. Express has one of the wildest fanbase that doesn’t care about your pedigree as long as you don’t deliver. The situation there is tough and as of now, I don’t expect to come and tell me that he’s emotionally weak because someone has insulted him,” said Bebe.

The Body Bounce singer also blasted critics who constantly accuse him of sabotaging his son’s footballing career by being a mainstay in it. Bebe Cool said that these are the same people who were a few years ago requesting parents to be a part of their children’s careers and support them.
The legendary singer added that now he’s been a practical example, the same people are quarrelling instead of encouraging the initiative.
However, he said that people need to learn that once a parent becomes part of their child’s career from as young as 3 years old, they cannot be rejected because they also want to see that project succeed.
