• Speaking on the Kasuku Live podcast, Bebe Cool stated that previous battles with Bobi Wine and Radio & Weasel ended their careers, and Chameleone knows it.
  • Bebe believes that a defeat in such a concert would damage any artist’s legacy. He also disclosed that he proposed a UGX 15 billion sponsorship plan to Gen. Salim Saleh and suggested a global promotional campaign for the battle.

Bebe Cool has explained why his highly awaited showdown with fellow musician Dr. Jose Chameleone did not take place. This concert, proposed by the deputy speaker, Hon Thomas Tayebwa, created quite a buzz but ultimately failed to materialize.

During the Kasuku Live podcast, Bebe Cool was informed that Chameleone has severally expressed Bebe’s fear of the planned battle. Bebe Cool noted that if the confrontation occurs, it could potentially ruin the legacy of the individual who loses.

He cited the examples of Radio and Weasel as well as Bobi Wine, emphasizing that had Radio and Weasel not faced him, they might have entered the conversation as part of the ‘Big 3’ or even exceeded them. Furthermore, the Gagamel leader mentioned that his duel with Bobi Wine led to a significant decline in his music career.

“I am not intimidated by Chameleone, but fans need to understand that this battle would harm whoever ends up losing. Chameleone witnessed my clash with Bobi Wine firsthand, and he knows the outcome. His career suffered greatly, and he has since faded away in the music scene. We consistently tell our fans that I am musically superior, but losing a battle can be career-ending,” said Bebe Cool.

“Take Radio and Weasel as an example; I quickly dismantled their competition with that confrontation. Had they not battled me, they would have been unstoppable, potentially joining us in the Big Three discussions or even surpassing us,” he added.

Additionally, Bebe Cool pointed out that there was a lack of financial backing from General Salim Saleh. The Love You Everyday artist revealed that he suggested to the relevant Minister to seek 15 billion shillings from the General.

He proposed that five billion shillings be allocated to him, five to Chameleone, and five to ten promoters. Five promoters would cater to his team, while the others would support the Valu Valu singer.

Moreover, Bebe Cool recommended advertising the concert on global platforms like CNN and MTV, as this would help promote Uganda as well.

He also suggested that the music industry be put on hold for both artists to prevent them from performing elsewhere, thereby increasing their value and building anticipation for the concert.
