• Bebe Cool says he wants a “New Uganda” under Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba with strict anti-corruption measures and national unity.
  • Proposes monthly community cleaning and tougher noise-control rules for churches, bars and discos.
  • Claims Bobi Wine’s version of a new Uganda would be driven by ego, revenge and sectarianism.

Musician Moses Ssali, popularly known as Bebe Cool, has unveiled the kind of “New Uganda” he envisions for the country’s future.

While appearing on Sanyuka TV, where he was hosted by Adam Kungu, the Gagamel boss was asked about the type of country he would want to live in.

It should be noted that presidential candidate and National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, alias Bobi Wine, has for years championed his political message around the theme of a new Uganda. The long-running rivalry between the two musicians has often spilled from music into the political arena.

According to the Wire Wire singer, however, the “New Uganda” he imagines is one led by First Son and CDF Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

Bebe Cool said he wants “a New Uganda where corrupt officials are imprisoned and all their finances—plus those of their children’s children—are confiscated to recover stolen public money.”

He added that the country he envisions is one where Ugandans live peacefully as one people regardless of their backgrounds.

On community responsibility, Bebe Cool proposed institutionalizing nationwide community service.
“I want a New Uganda where every Ugandan participates in community cleaning—at least one Saturday every month,” he said. “People should sweep roads, clean public spaces and take responsibility for their neighborhoods.”

He also highlighted the need to regulate noise pollution from community churches, bars and discos—especially in residential areas.

When asked whether Bobi Wine is capable of delivering the “New Uganda” he has long promised, Bebe Cool dismissed the possibility.
“The New Uganda Bobi Wine talks about is one of the Bobi Wine caliber—ghetto style,” he argued. “It would be a Uganda filled with ego, revenge, tribalism and sectarianism, not real transformation.”

Bebe Cool is currently one of the headliners of the Unstoppable Movement, a mobilization group canvassing support for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni ahead of the 2026 elections as he seeks a ninth term.
