Over the weekend, the Ugandan culinary world witnessed a proud and inspiring moment as Chef Sheila, one of the country’s top professional chefs and the Vice President of the Uganda Chefs Association, hosted the very first graduation ceremony for her culinary school — Vine Culinary Kitchen in Ntinda.
More than 150 students walked proudly across the stage, officially becoming the first graduates of the school, which Chef Sheila founded to train and inspire the next generation of Ugandan chefs. The ceremony was nothing short of a celebration — filled with joy, pride, and plenty of delicious food.

Big names from Uganda’s hospitality and culinary industries came out to support, along with friends, families, and food lovers. The event had an electric energy — a blend of excitement for the future and admiration for what had been accomplished.
“This is more than just a graduation — it’s the beginning of a new chapter for each of these talented chefs,” Chef Sheila shared during her speech. “They’re ready to take on the world, and I couldn’t be prouder.”
Chef Sheila is no stranger to the international food scene. She has traveled across Europe representing Uganda at various culinary events, showcasing the richness of Ugandan cuisine and bringing global knowledge back home.
