A bold new sound is about to hit the East African music scene and it’s wrapped in style, culture, and unapologetic creativity. On Sunday, July 20th, 2025, all roads lead to Silo 15, Bugolobi, for the highly anticipated Cartel Bizness EP Listening Party, a genre-blending, fashion-fueled experience that marks the music debut of visionary creative, Denim Cartel, as Executive Producer.

This isn’t your average listening party. It’s the official pre-launch showcase of Cartel Bizness a boundary-pushing EP that fuses Afro-fusion, Afrobeats, dancehall, and East African rhythm into a refreshing sound made for a global audience. Guests will be the first to hear the full EP before its official release on July 23rd.

“Get ready for the next wave,” says Denim Cartel, who takes cues from icons like Dr. Dre, Wizkid, Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, and Timbaland. “We’re not just making music we’re defining a whole new sound and style for the continent.”

Hosted by Hype Cartel and Icy Sonia, with DJ Vanns spinning the decks, the event promises electric energy from 5PM till late. But more than just music, Cartel Bizness is an immersive cultural experience complete with fashion installations, live performances, exclusive merch, and a vibe crafted for East Africa’s expressive new generation.

The EP features a standout lineup of regional heavyweights and rising stars including Elijah Kitaka, Kamanzi, Mike Kayihura, A Pass, Bensoul, Big Tril, Tungi, and more all brought together under the production mastery of Axon, the hitmaker behind songs like ‘Nana’, ‘Wait’, and ‘Dalilah’.

“It’s not just an EP it’s a cultural movement,” Axon shares. “It brings together sound, fashion, and a new artistic identity for the region. This is a statement.”
Adding a visual punch to the project is Denim Cartel’s fashion-forward ethos. Known for upcycling denim into wearable art, Denim brings his eco-conscious aesthetic into the world of music with limited-edition merch inspired by the EP’s visuals and sonic tone.

“This is about storytelling through beats and fabric,” Denim explains. “Every thread, every sound, is part of the bigger picture.”

With over 500 expected guests, from tastemakers and trendsetters to creatives and industry insiders, the Cartel Bizness Listening Party is set to become one of Kampala’s most culture-defining nights of the year.
