However, during an interview on the renowned American radio show hosted by Angela Ye, the Wasafi founder revealed a shocking truth. He stated that Abdul Juma isn’t his biological father, but a man named Salum Iddi Nyange is.

According to Diamond, his mother, Sandra, and Abdul Juma were not residing together throughout his teenage years. Nevertheless, he would visit Juma at his residence.

What struck him was that he did not feel as welcome in Juma’s home as the other children who lived there. Additionally, his mother was not favored by Juma’s mother, which he never understood.

Eventually, he ceased visiting Juma because he wasn’t experiencing the same positive atmosphere as the others. One day, while at home, his maternal aunt, without his mother’s knowledge, disclosed the truth about his biological father.

His aunt advised him to go to the market, find Salum, and introduce himself as Sandra’s son. Although he hesitated, the Yatapita singer went and was warmly greeted by Salum, who was overjoyed to see him. He received some money and a few items for home use, and from then on, he continued to visit him.

“Mzee Abdul Juma is not my true father as many individuals believe. I also came to this realization later in life after encountering numerous difficulties. One day, while I was hungry and not attending school, my aunt questioned why my father, whom I often spoke about, wasn’t taking care of me. She then revealed her suspicion that he might not be my biological father and encouraged me to visit a local market to seek out a man named Salum. She instructed me to inform him that I am his son, and that Sandra had sent me. I was reluctant, but I went anyway and he was thrilled to see me. He embraced me, gave me some money, and some supplies for home. That was the first time I truly felt a fatherly connection. However, I had already sensed that I wasn’t welcome at Juma’s home, and his mother held a disfavor towards my mother,” the singer stated.

Sadly, Salum passed away several years ago. In 2021, Diamond Platnumz’s mother disclosed that Abdul Juma was not the father of her superstar son. She mentioned that he discovered her pregnancy and was aware that the child was not his.

He only began to acknowledge Diamond as his son after he became famous, which she claimed would have been different if he had stood by them during their struggles.

Diamond also mentioned trying to assist him, but he sought the same treatment for himself as he expected for his mother, which is impossible given the natural bond with his mom.
