• Don Zella, a popular Ugandan socialite, has labeled unmarried musicians as “failures.”
  • In a Facebook post, she criticized artists who avoid marriage and long-term relationships with excuses of focusing on their music careers.

Don Zella who tried music herself and quit shortly after, has slammed all Ugandan artists who are single, labeling them as music failures. She expressed this opinion on her Facebook page, stating that many of these musicians argue that they fear losing their careers, which is why they are not pursuing family and marriage.

The mother of four further asserted that marriage is a blessing, contrary to the widely held belief among these musicians that it would hinder their careers.

Nalongo Don Zella also condemned those who have children without being in committed relationships.

“Most artists in Uganda who are not married are all music failures claiming they are sacred to loose female fans but in my eyes they have no fans at all byona bikonwa mu music actually marriage is a blessing and having a family is even more blessings they be pooping those babies east and west but don’t want to be commited kale mbwa mwe,” she wrote.

The specific individuals she was targeting with this comment are unclear, but it likely applies to many.

Numerous musicians, particularly female artists, have often claimed that their music careers are their priority, which prevents them from engaging in relationships.

Fans believe that some musicians are long overdue for marriage. They feel that artists like Spice Diana, Lydia Jazmine, Carol Nantongo, and others should settle down.

Despite artists like Sheebah, Karole Kasita, and Winnie Nwagi having children, they remain unmarried, a fact that Don Zella also criticized.
