• Eddy Kenzo nominated for 2026 Grammys under Best African Music Performance.
  • Competes with Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, and Tyla.
  • Aims to become the first Ugandan and East African artist to win a Grammy.

Big Talent boss Eddy Kenzo has once again put Uganda on the global music map after being nominated for the 2026 Grammy Awards. The Ugandan superstar received a nod in the Best African Music Performance category for his collaboration with instrumentalist Mehran Matin on the inspirational track “Hope and Love.”

This marks Kenzo’s second Grammy nomination, having first been recognized in 2024 for his collaboration with Matt B. The “Semyekozo” singer will this time battle some of Africa’s biggest names, including Burna Boy for “Love,” Davido featuring Omah Lay for “With You,” Wizkid featuring Ayra Starr for “Gimme Dat,” and South African star Tyla for “Push 2 Start.” Tyla notably won this same category in 2024.

The prestigious awards will take place on February 1, 2026, and Kenzo will be hoping to make history as the first Ugandan and East African artist to win a Grammy. His nomination is a testament to his consistency, resilience, and global influence over the years.

Eddy Kenzo, who also serves as the President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation, continues to raise Uganda’s flag high. In 2016, he became the first and only Ugandan to win a BET Award for his song “City of Lost Children.” His latest Grammy nod cements his legacy as one of Uganda’s greatest musical exports and a true pioneer of African sound on the world stage.
