- Kenzo says UNMF meetings stopped because he’s unavailable during the campaign period.
- He can still perform System Volongoto, but “it depends where and when.”
- The singer celebrates his second Grammy nomination for Hope and Love with Mehran Matin.
Singer Eddy Kenzo has revealed why the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) no longer holds its weekly meetings as it used to. The federation previously met every Tuesday at Allure Suites in Mutundwe, but these jam sessions have since paused.

According to Kenzo, the pause is due to his unavailability ever since presidential campaigns kicked off in September. He explained that despite having other federation members, they cannot hold meetings in his absence.
“The Federation no longer sits because I’m not available, and I can’t chop myself into pieces to be everywhere. The other members cannot sit without me, so that’s why the UNMF jam sessions no longer take place,” Kenzo said.
Currently on the campaign trail with President Museveni, Kenzo was also asked whether he can still perform his politically charged hit “System Volongoto”, a song he released during his friendship with Bobi Wine and which criticized government systems at the time.
“Yeah, I can still perform System Volongoto because it’s my song. However, it depends where and when,” he said.
The Big Talent boss, who recently secured his second Grammy Award nomination, also reflected on the global recognition. Kenzo emphasized that Grammy nominations are not easy to earn, urging critics to respect the achievement.
He proudly noted that he personally wrote the nominated song “Hope and Love” featuring Mehran Matin, which earned him the nod.
