• Bebe Cool has stirred debate after naming Jay-Z as his dream act for DJ AG’s online show.
  • Fans argue the Gagamel star should have endorsed Ugandan artists such as Dr. Jose Chameleone or Joshua Baraka to represent Uganda on the global stage.

Ugandan heavyweight singer Big Size Bebe Cool, has astonished and shocked many Ugandans after his selection during the DJ AG ONLINE show.

DJ AG, a DJ based in London, is currently well-known on TikTok for his street DJ performances where he plays music for those passing by and the local community.

His mission is to uplift emerging talent in the music industry. He has reportedly hosted numerous international stars, including Will Smith, Craig David, Beenie Man, Burna Boy, and Diamond Platnumz, among others.

Last night, Bebe Cool made a cameo appearance and treated the audience to several of his popular songs from both earlier years and his new album, Break The Chains, which he is currently promoting. After his act, the Gagamel boss was questioned about which artist from anywhere in the world he would want to see perform next on the show.

A fan from the audience shouted Jay-Z, and it appeared that Bebe Cool shared this sentiment. He expressed that he would love to see the American music icon on the show, believing that DJ AG deserves to host top artists due to his efforts.

However, Bebe Cool’s choice has since caused a stir among Ugandans on TikTok. Among those who expressed surprise was Dax Vibes, Bobi Wine’s younger brother, who commented, “Y not me,” along with laughing emojis.

Other Ugandans also expressed their dissatisfaction with the Love You Everyday singer’s choice. They argued that he could have opted for a Ugandan artist like Dr. Jose Chameleone instead of failing to mention Joshua Baraka, who has previously been featured on the show.

They continued to state that this was a prime opportunity for the singer to showcase Ugandan talent to a global audience, but he ultimately squandered it. Some of them even likened it to Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz who chose fellow Tanzanian and lover, Zuchu when he got the chance on the platform last month.
