• Feffe Bussi says he plans to go back to school and study law as preparation for active political participation.
  • The rapper is aligned with NUP and has been influenced by close exposure to grassroots leadership through family.
  • He believes artists and citizens can no longer ignore politics and must play a direct role in shaping Uganda’s future.

Rapper Feffe Bussi has opened up about his future ambitions beyond music, revealing plans to return to school and study law as a pathway into active politics.

The outspoken artist, who has consistently aligned himself with the National Unity Platform (NUP), says his growing interest in politics is driven by a deep desire to be part of meaningful change in Uganda.

Feffe believes that this is the right time for citizens from all walks of life to step up and play an active role in shaping the country’s future.

Feffe’s political exposure is also close to home. His sister is married to Nubian Li, who is currently contesting for the Nakawa Division mayoral seat. She already serves as the Speaker of the division, a position that has given Feffe a firsthand look at how leadership and governance work at the grassroots level. This proximity to active political leadership, he admits, has further inspired his own ambitions.

Reflecting on his journey, Feffe noted that music has already placed him in political spaces.

“I sing for the politicians, you saw the New Uganda and everything that has been done. We have reached a point where everyone is involved in politics. You can’t ignore it,” he said. “I have a passion for being an active politician to change my country.”

The rapper says he now feels a personal obligation to do more than just comment on national issues through music. For him, going back to school to study law is a strategic move that will equip him with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute effectively to governance and policy-making.
