- Martha Kay, a popular Ugandan influencer and media personality, has opened up about her two-year journey to shed 35kg.
- After years of battling insecurities and body shaming, she tried various methods—including pills and diets—with little success.
Social media influencer and media personality Martha Kagimba alias Martha Kay has shared her weight loss journey with her social media followers. It should be noted that Martha had in the past severally narrated her struggles with a lot of weight and the insecurities that came along with it such as being body shamed.

She therefore started on a journey to shred off unnecessary weight and in this video, she said that shes so far chopped 35kg.
As of now she weighs around 77/78kgs down from 115kg. Martha said that just like anyone else looking to cut excess weight, she tried almost every option but to no avail.
These included weight loss pills, vegetarian diet among other options. Although some of these did work, the weight would bounce back immediately a thing that frustrated her so much.

But nonetheless, she didn’t give up and tried intermittent fasting. This was the trick she needed all along. She mixed it with other options such as exercising pointing to walking as the most useful exercise in her weight loss journey.
“I was almost giving up until I decided to try intermittent fasting. Now this is where you give yourself specific time to eat. For example I usually have my first meal at around 1pm and the last one at 6pm. This means that my body burns out the calories given and then resorts to body fat fo fuel. This in turn means losing weight. I also make sure I take less calories than my body needs. Also another hack that I discovered is exercising and walking is an underrated thing. At least I take 12,000 steps a day and this can be done anywhere,” she said.
Martha also said that mindset shift is the biggest and most important. According to her, giving yourself excuses on when to start this journey or the lifestyle habits to adopt and discard might prove a key factor in weight loss.
Besides, Martha also added that this is not a journey achieved in just a short time. She revealed that she’s achieved this in over two years but over two years of dedication.
