The feud of Cindy Sanyu and Sheebah is a juicy one that has captured public attention for many years eventually culminating into a battle in 2023. The King Herself has now reflected on that moment and believes she emerged the winner. “I could see the energy from my fans that day. They even gave me a new name, Igwe. Even after the show, I was the one trending. People showed me that I’m the best. That’s my version; I don’t know her side,” Cindy in an interview with Sanyuka TV.

She was asked about the two of them locking horns agaion but the Boom Party singer insisted she won’t battle Sheebah again even if given a lot of money.

“I am merciful and I wouldn’t want to embarrass her again. I cannot humiliate her, a fellow woman, in front of the whole country. However, I applaud her courage because that woman has been through a lot. To decide to battle me knowing what I was going to do shows she was very confident,” she added.

On her personal life, Cindy dismissed rumors of trouble in her marriage with Joel Okuyo. “The rumors about me and my man separating are just rumors. I’ve also heard that he even beats me, but that’s not true. That’s not the type of man he is. In fact, we are closer than we were at the start. Marriage is not for the weak, and some people shouldn’t get married because they cannot manage it. If you want freedom and not to be questioned, don’t get married. A woman who still has things to achieve shouldn’t rush into it.”

Cindy also revealed why she avoids performing at political rallies. “I have fans from different camps and those who are neutral. I don’t want to disunite them,” she explained.

Meanwhile although Cindy has constantly talked about Sheebah ever since their battle, the former TNS singer has largely been silent. She’s been more musically active and also her newly found family has taken most of her time.
