• Gloria Bugie says she has bigger goals than giving birth at the moment
  • She criticized musicians who use others’ names to gain fame
  • The singer addressed ongoing pressure female artists face over relationships and motherhood

Singer Gloria Busingye, popularly known as Gloria Bugie, has revealed that giving birth is not among her current priorities, saying she has bigger goals to focus on.

While appearing on Galaxy FM, the Panama singer was asked whether fans should expect a baby or even a romantic partner from her anytime soon. In response, Gloria was blunt, saying she has better things to do than give birth at the moment.

She explained that her focus is on achieving major milestones, including transforming Uganda’s music industry, which she described as still backward in some aspects. The singer also warned fellow musicians to stop riding on others’ names in a bid to rise to the top.

Gloria’s remarks were particularly directed at fellow singer Aaronx, who was also present. The Permission singer had previously criticized the Hitboss Management artist, and when Gloria got the chance to respond, she did not hesitate.

“I think there are better things to do than give birth right now. I have so many things to achieve, such as transforming our music industry, which is still backward, and also putting in line musicians who want to climb on other people’s names to the top,” Gloria said.

Female musicians often face repeated questions about when they plan to show off their partners, get married, or have children. Gloria Bugie now joins a growing list of female artists facing similar pressure.

Artists such as Spice Diana and Lydia Jazmine have frequently been asked these questions during interviews, while others like Sheebah Karungi, Carol Nantongo, Cindy, and Vinka have openly pushed back against such discussions after repeatedly addressing them.
