Mityana District Woman MP, Hon Joyce Bagala has without fear or favor stated why her parent party, the National Unity Platform’s, NUP, thwarted her attempts to reclaim her parliamentary seat under the party’s card. Bagala was one of the big names dropped in the NUP vetting process with the party instead choosing foot soldier, Nabbosa Mukisa Proscovia.

Appearing on a podcast hosted by social entertainment analyst, Frank Ntambi, Bagala said that the party dropped her because of her closeness to former leader of opposition, Hon Mathias Mpuuga. It should be noted that when the Nyendo-Mukungwe MP was sacked by NUP, Bagala was one of the party members who didn’t castigate him.
Speaking about NUP dropping her, the former NBS TV present revealed that the Bobi Wine led party clearly knows that she’s the most loyal servant of the party. According to Bagala, NUP leaders clearly know who would flip if the script turned and she’s not among them.
However, she’s very confident that her friendship with Mpuuga spelled her political misfortunes. She even stung the Bobi Wine led party saying that it seems they failed to move on from this saga yet on the other hand, Mpuuga moved on.

The experienced former journalist additionally said that she would have welcomed NUP’s choice of she had performed poorly but this was never the case. According to Bagala, the Makerere Kavule based party seems to have repercussions towards members who don’t align with their beliefs even in their personal lifestyles.
She said that many people out there have friends who have their enemies but this doesn’t necessitate them to go fight their battles. Everyone has a life outside of the party and politics and for her, the Democratic Front leader is her friend. There was therefore no need for her to ditch and hate Mpuuga because of party police.
Concluding, Bagala said that she’s not pained by being dropped because she knows that she followed her conscious and the leadership code of conduct.
