One of Uganda’s biggest and most successful football clubs, KCCA FC has acquisition their latest signing, winger Ssali Alpha Thierry who is legendary musician, Bebe Cool’s son. Alpha joins the Kasasiro Boys from NEC FC on a two-year contract that runs until 2027.

The youngster has previously featured for Uganda at two AFCON U20 tournaments (2021 and 2023). He is known for his pace, flair, and ability to operate effectively on either flank and at just 21, Alpha already carries valuable experience.
Therefore his addition is expected to give the Cityzens greater attacking depth as they prepare for the upcoming Uganda Premier League season.
Alpha’s signing goes beyond his footballing ability, his arrival has a symbolic weight for the 13 time UPL champions. He is the grandson of ‘Mister’ Jaberi Bidandi Ssali, one of KCCA FC’s founding members back in 1963. Bidandi, who also served as head coach and team manager through the 1960s and 70s, played a vital role in building the foundations of the club and nurturing players who went on to shape the Uganda Cranes.

Therefore welcoming Alpha is more than a signing for the Lugogo based club—it is a reconnection with its roots.
“This is a dream come true,” Alpha said after signing. “My grandfather helped build this club, and now I get to wear the same colors. I feel the connection, and I am ready to fight for the badge and contribute to winning trophies,” said the Proline Academy graduate.
Brian Ssenyondo the co-Head Coach of the club praised the youngster’s versatility and mentality: “Alpha is a player with huge potential. He can play on both wings, he works hard, and his attitude stands out. We believe he will grow into a key figure for us.”
Additionally club legend Tom Lwanga also weighed in, describing this transfer as “a continuation of Mister Bidandi’s legacy and a bridge between the club’s past and future.”
With the UPL season scheduled to start this month amidst ongoing changes, KCCA will hope that the former Express and NEC footballer brings value to the club.
