  • She names Tracy Mellon as her artist of the year, calling her one of the best new talents in the country.

Musician Lydia Jazmine has spoken out about her personal life, a topic that has sparked public debate for years. Being in the spotlight for over a decade, the Masukka singer has often faced questions about her love life and alleged links to several men, including fellow musicians Fik Fameica and Eddy Kenzo.

Jazmine has always dismissed these claims, and once again made it clear that she will reveal her partner only when the right time comes. For now, she says marriage and children are not on her mind.

According to Jazmine, her priority is getting her finances in order. She praised fellow singer Sheebah Karungi, saying she is inspired by how Sheebah recently completed and gifted a house to her mother. Jazmine said she is also working hard to finish her own home and hopes to bless her parents soon.

In her words, “People need to stop putting women under pressure to show off their men. It’s men who introduce their partners, not the other way round.”

She backed up her point by mentioning singer Carol Nantongo, who recently showed off her fiancé after eight years of dating. Jazmine said this proves that women rarely break such news first.

Jazmine also opened up about her friendship with Sheebah, saying they are on very good terms and she is proud of Sheebah’s growth—especially after welcoming her baby at a time many people doubted her. Jazmine added that she loves children deeply, but will only think about starting a family when the timing is right.

The Kapeesa singer also revealed her best artist of the year, saying the award would go to rising star Tracy Melon, who has delivered several hit songs in 2025. Jazmine noted that she was among the judges in the Pearl of Africa music contest, the platform that first spotlighted Tracy.

Jazmine concluded by telling fans to be patient: when the right man comes and the time is right, she will proudly introduce him to the world.
