• Musician-turned-politician Nina Roz, real name Nina Kankunda, faced scrutiny after a televised interview on Sanyuka TV where she misunderstood a simple question about her post-election plans.
  • The National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate for Woman MP in Sembabule District was asked by host Anna Talia Oze about her first actions immediately after winning. However, Nina instead detailed plans she would carry out once fully sworn into Parliament, missing the point of the question.

Musician Nina Kankunda, better known as Nina Roz, has surprised both netizens and the public after disclosing her intentions if she is elected to Parliament. It’s important to note that Nina Roz has submitted her nomination papers to the National Unity Platform as she seeks to become the Woman MP for Sembabule District.

For several years, the Muliro singer has shown her ambition to engage in active politics. Her connection with NUP leader Bobi Wine appears to be a significant element in helping her achieve this goal.

During her appearance on Sanyuka TV, where Anna Talia Oze was the host, she was questioned about her plans following her victory. Nina promptly began detailing her intentions after being declared the MP.

However, Anna Talia interrupted her and specifically inquired about what she would do right after her victory on January 19, 2026. The TV host also clarified the timing of the announcement, suggesting that she wanted to know Nina’s immediate actions post-victory.

Nina, however, seemed to misinterpret the question and shared her plans as a fully sworn-in MP. She stated her goal of assisting mothers who have historically died during childbirth.

The singer highlighted that despite the presence of wealth and influential individuals in the area, they still lag behind when it comes to medical facilities and access to medications.

Netizens quickly pointed out her misunderstanding of the question and began to joke about it. Many questioned how effectively she would be able to express herself in Parliament if she were elected.
