• Pastor Bugembe recounts a memorable State House visit with Mowzey Radio.
  • Radio defied the group’s plan and boldly spoke to President Museveni.
  • Bugembe praises the late singer’s intelligence and fearless honesty.

Pastor Wilson Bugembe has reminisced about the late Mowzey Radio’s unmatched brilliance, describing him as a rare and intelligent artist who always spoke his mind, even in the most unexpected situations.

During a recent sermon, the Kani singer narrated a moment when he and other musicians were invited to meet President Yoweri Museveni. According to Bugembe, the group had previously agreed that Radio should not speak during the meeting because he often asked “uncoordinated but very intelligent” questions.

However, when they arrived at State House and President Museveni entered the room, Radio immediately raised his hand to speak—despite their prior agreement.

“He told the President that he had advisors he doesn’t even listen to. So instead of wasting time, he should just give us money and a photo moment,” Bugembe recalled amid laughter from the congregation.

The pastor described Radio as a genius with a sharp mind and fearless honesty. “He always asked the hard questions, the things everyone else was afraid to say,” Bugembe added.

Many who interacted with the late Neera singer have also testified to his extraordinary intellect and depth of thought. A trained psychologist, Mowzey Radio remains celebrated not only for his music but also for his mind.
