• President William Ruto strongly criticized Kenya’s opposition during a speech at Kivaywa Primary School, branding their “Ruto Must Go” campaign as an empty slogan with no viable plan for the country.
  • Ruto emphasised his government’s investment in infrastructure, education, and health, and addressed criticism over his delayed response to influencer Albert Ojwang’s death, vowing that justice would be served.

President William Ruto has once again criticized the opposition, calling them unprepared to lead Kenya and accusing them of having no clear agenda for the country’s future.

Speaking during a church event at Kivaywa Primary School on Sunday, June 15th, Ruto dismissed the opposition’s calls for his resignation, saying they are driven by slogans, not solutions.

“These other people have no plan. Don’t waste time on them,” Ruto told the congregation.

“Their only plan is ‘Ruto Must Go.’ How will that help Kenyans and the country?”

He singled out key opposition figures including Rigathi Gachagua, Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa, and Fred Matiang’i, accusing them of relying on empty rhetoric. “They cannot do anything. They just want to tell stories,” he added.

Ruto went further to say that if these leaders have a problem, they should face him directly instead of involving the Kenyan people in their political battles.

“If they have a problem with me, they should come and face me. I will dismantle them.”

He emphasised his administration’s focus on creating jobs, improving education and healthcare, and addressing the historical underdevelopment of Western Kenya.

“We’ve allocated Sh2 billion for road construction from Kakamega Airstrip to Shinyalu and Chepsonoi,” he revealed.

The president also addressed public backlash over his delayed response to the death of social media influencer and teacher Albert Ojwang. Protesters had accused him of silence, prompting him to express condolences and promise justice.

“I fully expect that the truth will be established and justice served,” he said.
