• SC Villa has abruptly discontinued its coaching agreement with Serbian tactician Nemanja Milincic, mere days after his appointment. Though initial terms had been agreed upon and duties begun, a formal contract was never signed.
  • SC Villa, under Omar Mandela’s leadership, remains in search of a new head coach ahead of the upcoming season, reaffirming their commitment to building a principled and competitive football team.

Uganda Premier League team Sports Club Villa has terminated the contract of their recently appointed Serbian coach Nemanja Milincic. It should be emphasized. It should be emphasized that earlier this week, the club had announced Milincic’s appointment as the new manager, taking over from Morley Byekwaso.

Milincic was anticipated to start his official duties shortly, but the Jogoos have confirmed that negotiations for the contract have been halted.

The announcement indicated that although a working relationship had been established and Milincic had commenced his duties, a formal contract had not yet been signed. Regarding the reasons for halting the negotiations, Villa stated that unforeseen issues related to the club’s core values emerged, resulting in a mutual decision to part ways.

Furthermore, the 17-time UPL champions mentioned that they are still on the lookout for a head coach. They emphasized the importance of finding a coach who shares their fundamental beliefs and values.

DISCONTINUATION OF CONTRACTUAL NEGOTIATIONS WITH MILINCIC NEMANJA. Now that the dust has settled, Sports Club Villa (“The Club”) informs its fans that its advanced contractual negotiations with Mr. Milincic Nemanja have regrettably been discontinued with immediate effect. While an agreement in principle had been reached and a working relationship had commenced, a formal contract had not yet been finalized. Unanticipated circumstances that touch the core values of the Club emerged and following careful consideration by both the Club and the prospective Coach, both parties mutually agreed in their best interests not to proceed with a formal coaching engagement at this time. The Club is very deliberate to ensure that it sets a strong foundation for it to be one of the great Clubs and a leading talent conveyor belt on the Continent. This is a value that cannot be compromised at any cost. The Club expresses its sincere appreciation to Nemanja for interesting himself in taking up the Head Coach role at the Club. The search for a Head Coach for the next season continues and the Club fans shall be updated in due course. Please take note that the Club President takes full responsibility for the decision not to continue with contract negotiations with Nemanja.

This hiring made Milincic, who previously served as an assistant coach for the Bulgarian National Team, the fourth Serbian to lead Uganda’s most successful football club.

With the league set to resume in about a month and a half, the club, under Omar Mandela, is eager to identify a suitable candidate for the position.
