Ugandan football superstar Allan Okello has revealed how he’s a staunch supporter of English Premier League side, Manchester United. The Uganda Cranes winger just like thousands of Ugandans who have an affinity for two of the league’s biggest teams, Manchester United and Arsenal said that he can never support the Gunners.

Okello said that if he was a kid, he could maybe switch allegiance but now that he’s mature, he cannot betray his European football love.
The 22 year old added that if he got the chance to play for the Arsenal, he would take it because he knows what it means for him, the country and young people out there. However, he doesn’t think that he would change his love for Man United.
“I’m a Manchester United fan and just like most Ugandans who are drawn into the Arsenal – Man U rivalry, I am too. I don’t think I can change my love for Manchester United to support Arsenal, maybe if I was still young but now that I’m grown, I can’t. Even if I got a chance to play for Arsenal, I would take it gladly because of what it means like putting my country on that big map but I don’t think I can change the support,” he said.

Okello further said that he’s in fact pained by the struggles the Red Devils are currently going through. Asked if he thinks that he could make a difference, the Vipers footballer said that there are times when you see a player playing a certain number awfully and you think to yourself that you can do better when an opportunity arises.
However, when he gives it much thought, he then realizes that these are top pros who sacrifice and train a lot to get to that level they’re at.
Okello was also given the example of Robin Van Persie, a former Arsenal fan and striker who became an instant fan of United following his switch from the Gunners in 2012 but the former KCCA player said that he doesn’t think he would follow the same path.
Well it seems that the Ugandan top scorer in the recently concluded CHAN tournament is going to get hurt for an extended period of time because Man U under Ruben Amorim seems like it will be in more trouble for more games ahead.
