• Ugandan singer Weasel Manizo has publicly responded to rapper Keko’s claims that Goodlyf remixed her hit song ‘This Is How We Do’ without her consent.
  • Keko revealed in a recent interview that her original version was already a success and didn’t need a remix, accusing Weasel and the late Mowzey Radio of adding verses without her approval.

Goodlyfe artist Weasel Manizo has turned to social media to respond to female rapper Keko after her comments regarding the collaboration on the track ‘This Is How We Do.’ It is worth mentioning that Keko initially recorded this track as a solo release before later remixing it with Radio and Weasel.

Radio & Weasel

During a media interview, Keko expressed that her original version was already successful and that she had no need for a remix. She explained how Weasel listened to her song and subsequently added a verse, followed by Radio.

The rapper asserted that the duo didn’t provide her with an opportunity to decide whether she wanted a remix or not.

Surprisingly, Keko claimed she was unaware of who Radio was, although he approached her in a calm manner during their recording sessions.

“To be honest, I was not familiar with who Radio was at the time. I had recorded my song as a solo endeavor and it had already become a hit that did not require a remix. Weasel later heard it and added a verse. Then Radio followed suit, and they remixed the song without allowing me to have any input,” she explained.

Weasel, however, did not take her comments lightly, expressing his frustration over people’s ingratitude. He pointed out that it was their remix that earned Keko the Channel O Music Award in 2011. He urged her to refrain from making baseless statements that undermine Goodlyfe.

“Why are people soo ungrateful sometimes? The truth still remains we gave u a remix that gave u The Most Gifted East African Video award at the Channel O Music Video Awards in 2011. Credit where credit’s due. Remixes shine, but originals pave the way. Don’t talk too much of Nonsense to discredit us,” said Weasel on Facebook.
