- Ziza Bafana accuses Bebe Cool and older Ugandan artists of failing to lobby MTV and Trace to establish presence in Uganda.
- He argues that this missed opportunity prevented Ugandan music from breaking onto the global stage.
- Bafana adds that today’s artists face intense media pressure, leading to unhealthy competition and poor-quality music.
Ziza Bafana has blamed artists of the older generation such as Bebe Cool and his co for failing the music industry. Bafana while on Sanyuka TV said that he’s trying to set an example of what the previous era of artists before him failed to do.

He revealed how that class failed to attract and lobby for mega media platforms such as Trace Music, MTV to set camp in Uganda. The Pomini singer added that these had the capacity to do that since they were the best in Uganda and East Africa at the time.
Therefore this is why they will find it to break onto the global stage and become international stars. Bafana said that he’s therefore trying to teach a huge lesson to artists coming up.
“For me as Bafana I want to talk about things that our elder artists such as Bebe Cool and the rest failed to do. Even though we respect them as we learnt from them, they failed to set the stage for our market to break onto the global stage. That’s why they can do everything to become international but won’t because they failed to lay the foundation. At the time, they were the best in East Africa and could have helped the likes of MTV Africa or Trace to set camp in Uganda,” said Bafana.
