Tanzanian singer Zuchu has publicly accused organisers of the CHAN 2024 finale in Nairobi of failing to pay her full performance fees, despite weeks of follow-up after the event.

The Wasafi Records star took to Instagram and made a series of posts in which she directly tagged CAF and LEAP Creative Studio the agency that handled artist bookings.
“I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my concern and frustration regarding the outstanding payment for my recent performance in Nairobi on August 30th 2025,” she wrote.
“Despite my team’s continuous patience and understanding, I have yet to receive the full payment.”

Zuchu added that her management had been in contact with LEAP’s CEO, Roshan Soomarshun. However, the explanations he offered were unsatisfactory.
“Supposed POPs were sent which then turned out unverifiable, suspicious and clearly not paid out,” she noted.
The Sukari singer also expressed disappointment at what she described as a lack of professionalism.
“As an artist, I expect to be treated with the respect and fairness that any professional deserves. I dropped previously booked shows to headline the CHAN finale — I do not expect this unfair treatment.”
In another post, Zuchu accused the agency of deliberately ignoring her concerns.
“It has been three weeks since I finished my show and now your team does not receive our calls and ignores our messages. Since your agency is so arrogant, I will be addressing this issue on my socials tomorrow.”
Apparently the Tanzanian singer is not the only aggrieved one in this unfortunate incident. Kenyan singer Savara is also yet to be paid and has raised similar concerns with the Wasafi songbird.
Ugandan singer Eddy Kenzo also graced the CHAN stage, however he has not publicly raised similar complaints.
Neither CAF nor LEAP Creative Studio had issued a statement in response to her allegations as of the time of publication.
