Retired police officer AIGP Asan Kasingye expressed great pride in his career within the police force. Having served in various roles, including Interpol, Police Spokesperson, and Police Commissar, Kasingye was one of the longest-serving officers in the Uganda Police.

He officially retired from the force in 2022 after nearly 34 years of service. Contrary to popular belief that he was dismissed, Kasingye clarified that he had actually retired from the Police in 2009 and was merely on a contract until 2022.
Kasingye stated that he feels very content despite not accumulating substantial wealth during his time in the Force. When he retired, many within the Police celebrated as he was seen as an obstacle to their illegal pursuits.
He acknowledged that he could have amassed considerable riches, including high-rise buildings in Kampala and beyond, but his integrity prevented him from doing so, and he chose to perform his duties with honesty.
