Ugandan singer Cindy Sanyu has revealed that even when she retires from active music performances, she has no plans of leaving the industry entirely.

Speaking during an interview on NTV’s Mwasuze Mutya show, the Boom Party hitmaker said her idea of retirement means stepping back from stage performances but remaining actively involved in mentoring the next generation of artists.
“Life after music for me is retiring into mentoring, not into no music in my life,” Cindy explained. “I want to retire into mentoring artists. I want to retire into creating a label that raises artists with talent and purpose.”
Cindy, who started her music journey in 2003 as a member of the girl group Blu 3, said music is more than just a career for her — it’s a calling.

“I never want to leave music at any point because music is a God-given thing. It’s my heart. It’s my passion,” she said.
The award-winning singer added that while she may reduce her live performances in the future, she will remain actively involved behind the scenes.
“I’ll stop performing as many shows — maybe I’ll have one show in a year,” she noted. “But I want to have an active life in music and mentor others. I’ve accumulated so much knowledge and skill, and I want to transfer it to the next generation.”
With over two decades in the industry and a successful solo career, Cindy Sanyu definitely remains one of Uganda’s most respected and accomplished musicians, admired for her talent, consistency, and leadership in the music scene.
