• Cindy says the Bebe Cool–Kenzo conflict is fueled by competition for visibility during the NRM campaign trail.
  • She urges respect for industry hierarchy, saying the “jungle has its laws” and seniority must be acknowledged.
  • Cindy believes the two artists will reconcile once the campaign season ends.

Musician Cinderella Sanyu, popularly known as Cindy, has shared her view on the escalating standoff between heavyweight artistes Bebe Cool and Eddy Kenzo, a feud that has simmered for weeks since the NRM campaign trail kicked off.

The conflict intensified after Kenzo accused the Gagamel camp of deliberately frustrating his performances. He claims that whenever he is scheduled to step on stage, “microphones mysteriously go off, unexpected issues arise, and Bebe Cool’s media teams ignore or block his coverage.” Kenzo further alleged that he is deliberately targeted and sidelined.

Cindy, however, says she is not fully aware of the root cause of the tension between the two stars—but she believes it largely stems from competition over visibility around the President during the campaign period.

“The music industry is like a jungle. You don’t just walk in and disrespect those you found there. The jungle has its laws, and anyone who forgets that will definitely clash with the lions,” Cindy noted.

She admitted that leadership, especially within the entertainment industry, comes with complexities, and at times she sympathizes with the Stamina singer because the situations he faces are not easy—even for her to advise on.

Still, Cindy remains confident that Bebe Cool and Kenzo will eventually reconcile once the campaign season ends, insisting that their musical relationship is stronger than their temporary political disagreements.

According to her, the simplest solution between the two would be adherence to respect—especially for senior figures. She argued that Bebe Cool, having been in the industry longer and not being “hungry,” mainly desires respect from the Uganda National Musicians Federation president, Kenzo.

“Once Kenzo gives Bebe Cool the respect he deserves and shows him that he matters, Bebe will guide him,” Cindy added, highlighting that no one should expect to appear more important than those who built the path before them.

It is worth noting that Bebe Cool has long been associated with the NRM and has served as a chief entertainer for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on several campaign trails. This season, however, both Kenzo and Bebe Cool are leading separate entertainment teams—an arrangement that has fueled collisions and heightened rivalry.
