Musician Nina Roz has issued a public apology to supporters of the National Unity Platform (NUP) after a video surfaced in which she appeared to endorse Uganda Boxing Federation President Moses Muhangi for the Kampala Central MP seat.

The video, whose recording date remains unclear, was widely shared across social media and even reposted by Muhangi himself, drawing significant attention and backlash from sections of the NUP support base. Nina and Muhangi are known to be personal friends.
In a surprising turn of events, Nina took to her social media platforms to distance herself from the endorsement and clarify her position. She expressed regret over the video’s impact and asked supporters for forgiveness.
“I have seen the video circulating, and I am truly, really sorry to everyone who was annoyed or angered by it. It does not reflect my official position,” Nina said.

The singer emphasized that, as a member of NUP and the party’s flag bearer for the Zombo District Woman MP seat, she fully endorses the party’s Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya for Kampala Central MP. She added that she also supports Hon. Ronald Balimwezo for Lord Mayor of Kampala City.
Nina explained that her clarification was intended to counter what she called the “selfish and uninterested motives” of those circulating the earlier video.
She concluded her apology by expressing hope that supporters would forgive her and move past the misunderstanding.
The incident had sparked heated discussions among NUP supporters online, with some calling for disciplinary action against her. It remains to be seen whether her apology will calm the tensions that had begun to rise within party circles.
