Speaking at the commissioning of All Saints Church, Kutesa revealed that the project was inspired by two deeply personal reasons.

“The major reason is in the memory and thanks to our parents who received salvation and accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and spread the gospel in this part of the world,” he told the congregation.

Kutesa also opened up about a private battle he faced in 2022.

“In November 2022, I was diagnosed with throat cancer. I spent six months in Germany undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy. By God’s grace, I recovered. After surviving that difficult experience, I made a promise to build a church for God in His honor,” he said.

The impressive structure, capable of seating 1,200 worshippers, was constructed through a partnership between Hon. Sam Kutesa and Tororo Cement Limited, completed in October 2023.

President Yoweri Museveni, who presided over the commissioning ceremony, praised both Kutesa and the contractors for their efforts.

“I want to thank Hon. Sam Kutesa for bringing this idea of building a Church to the donors who quickly built it for us here. I thank him so much,” President Museveni said, also commending Mr. Manish and his family, owners of Tororo Cement, for their continued support in building churches across Uganda.
