Shalom Namagembe, daughter of Ugandan opposition leader Bobi Wine, addressed a popular question from her followers on her YouTube channel: Why didn’t she contest for Miss Uganda?

With her notable height and physique, many believed she would be a strong contender for the title.

However, Shalom Namagembe, who is currently 15 years old and set to turn 16 in October, shared that participating in beauty pageants isn’t aligned with her personal interests.

She expressed admiration for the many beautiful and intellectual women who compete in such contests, stating that they are more deserving of the spotlight.

“It’s not my cup of tea,” Shalom explained. “There are so many beautiful intellectual women out there who I feel are more worthy. I’m proud of whoever won.”

Despite not following the Miss Uganda contest closely, Shalom praised the participants. “I don’t keep up with the contest, but whoever won, I am so proud of you guys. I saw some of the clips and they all looked amazing.”

Currently in her Senior Four, Shalom chose not to disclose the name of her school for security reasons, given her father’s prominent position as the leading opposition figure in Uganda.
