Musician and media figure Robert Sekidde, known as Tuff B, is eyeing the Makindye East Parliamentary seat currently held by NUP’s Hon Derrick Nyeko. Tuff B, who plans to run on the NUP ticket, has already begun his campaign efforts to gather votes.

As a media figure, many are curious about how he plans to finance his campaign. During an exclusive interview, the former NBS KURT host shared details about his financial background.

He mentioned that the aspiration to enter Parliament sparked ten years ago, prompting him to start investing in that goal immediately.

He began saving right away and also informed a few of his friends in 2019, who believed in him and assisted in fundraising for his future campaign.

The Endibota singer further explained that he has served as a brand ambassador for MTN, earning Shs 5 million monthly and saving around Shs 3 million over the last decade. This amount was in addition to his earnings from NBS TV, which he described as substantial.

He contested claims by some presenters stating that TV hosts earn only 50k, emphasizing that he was compensated well at the station located in Naguru.

This is how he has managed to fund various activities in his constituency, such as providing medical care for the sick, among other initiatives.

“I want to emphasize that I envisioned becoming an MP ten years ago and began saving towards that goal. I am fortunate that the friends I confided in also contributed to fundraising for me. For instance, as MTN’s brand ambassador for the past decade, I received about 5 million and saved 3 million. My salary at NBS was also quite good, unlike those who claim to earn 50k. So, I assure you, I am well-equipped to carry out my campaigns until I achieve my dream,” he stated.

Tuff B, who previously had a contentious relationship with NUP president Bobi Wine due to his friendship with Bebe Cool, is aiming to secure a direct NUP ticket and convert it into a victory.
