• UCC suspends Salt TV’s “Omusunsuzi” program over abusive content and broadcasting standard violations.
  • Hosted by Jenifer Full Figure and Charles Senkubuge, the show aired during morning hours, raising concerns for child audiences.
  • Salt TV ordered to comply by September 19, 2025, by submitting recordings, scripts, and written responses to UCC.

The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has suspended the “Omusunsuzi” program presented by Jenifer Full Figure and Charles Senkubuge on Salt Television, citing violations of broadcasting standards.

In a letter dated September 13, 2025, UCC explained that the decision followed routine monitoring and numerous public complaints regarding the program. The regulator found that “Omusunsuzi,” which airs weekdays from 6:00 am to 8:00 am, contained abusive content, inappropriate language, and unprofessional conduct by its presenters.

UCC further noted that the program’s timing during morning hours made it highly inappropriate since children could easily be exposed to the content.

Under its mandate in the Uganda Communications Act, Cap. 106, UCC directed Salt TV to:

  • Immediately suspend airing “Omusunsuzi.”
  • Provide written responses to the complaints received.
  • Submit recordings of the show broadcast between August 1 and September 12, 2025.
  • Present the program scripts for review.

Salt TV has been given until Friday, September 19, 2025, to confirm compliance and provide the required materials to the Commission.

The suspension comes as part of UCC’s continued efforts to uphold professional broadcasting standards and protect the public—especially children—from harmful media content.
